Kevin Liverpool and Junior Bradshaw planned to dump the singer's body in a river
Two men have been found guilty of plotting to decapitate Joss Stone with a Samurai sword because of her close connections to the Royal Family.
Kevin Liverpool, 35, and Junior Bradshaw, 32, planned to rob and kill the singer before dumping her body in a river.
The pair were arrested in June 2011 after hatching a ‘crazy scheme’ to drive from the flat they shared in Longsight, Manchester to her Devon home in their Fiat Punto.
They were equipped with items including a sword, knives, hammers, balaclavas, black bags and a large metal spike.
However, ‘deluded incompetents’ Liverpool and Bradshaw crashed on their way and later got lost, leading them to ask a postman if he could direct them to Joss‘s house.
They ended up seven miles away from the property, where worried residents called the police over their bizarre behaviour.
Liverpool was jailed for life yesterday with a minimum term of ten years and eight months, while Bradshaw has been diagnosed with ‘disorganised schizophrenia’ and will be sentenced following psychiatric reports.
‘I am relieved the trial is now over and that these men are no longer in a position to cause harm to anyone,’ said Joss.
‘I’d like to thank everyone for all their support and kind wishes.’
