The Duchess shocked by doll version of herself

Kate Middleton couldn’t hide her horror when she was shown a Barbie-style doll of herself in Dumfries, Ayrshire last week.

The pregnant Duchess didn’t seem too impressed with the model, which sported a bouffant-style hairdo, a bright pink fascinator and an inaccurate version of her navy engagement dress.

‘No! Oh no, is that me?’ asked Kate.

‘Is that meant to be me? Does my hair really look like that?’

Kate had joined Prince William and father-in-law Prince Charles to open the Tamar Manoukian Outdoor Centre at Dumfries House, where Charles, 64, leads a regeneration project.

The Duchess of Cambridge met the excited crowd in a red Armani coat that she’d previously worn to 30-year-old William‘s Sandhurst passing-out parade in 2006.

She was presented with the £15 doll by Dayna Miller, 11, who’d been given it as a Christmas gift by her mum Sharon.

‘I told her she was much prettier than the doll and her hair was not nearly so big and she laughed and seemed happy,’ says Dayna.

‘I think she was a bit shocked by the doll, though. I can’t believe how nice she was. She was just lovely. This has been the best day ever.’
