Duchess and her mum share frock

Kate Middleton stepped out in a sophisticated blue Reiss dress yesterday – an item worn by her mum Carole Middleton 2 years ago.

The frugal Duchess of Cambridge, who was visiting The Treehouse hospice in Ipswich, paired her recycled frock with a black waist belt and matching heels.

And when Carole, 57, wore the double-breasted number to Royal Ascot in 2010, she accessorised it in a similar fashion, but added a fascinator – which her daughter had worn the year before.

The £139 electric blue Trina dress is from Reiss‘s autumn-winter 2008 collection and so is no longer on sale.

Kate, 30 – Royal Patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, who run The Treehouse – made her first public speech yesterday.

She seemed a little nervous throughout her 3-minute talk to the packed room, in
which she spoke of her admiration for the centre’s staff and her
husband Prince William, 29.
