Wills' gran Queen Elizabeth II celebrates 60 years on the throne

Kate Middleton chose a lace frock by her Royal Wedding dress designer Alexander McQueen for yesterday’s Diamond Jubilee thanksgiving service.

The 30-year-old teamed her figure-hugging nude number with a £790 Jane Taylor hat and a pair of patent heels.

‘It was the chicest of chic,’ says The British Fashion Council’s Harold Tillman.

‘With the eyes of the world on her, it was a wonderful choice and she carried it so beautifully.’

Kate sat with husband Prince William, 29, and brother-in-law Prince Harry, 28, at the event, which was held in St Paul’s Cathedral.

It concluded a trio of style hits from Kate over a weekend that celebrated the Queen’s 60 years on the throne.

Kate opted for a red Alexander McQueen dress at the river pageant on Sunday and a patterned navy silk frock for Monday’s concert.
