Kieran is said to have 'begged' for Katie back during the visit
The visit came hours after Katie, 35, had Tweeted: ‘Sorry to say me and kieran are divorcing him and my best friend jane pountney bee having a full blown sexual affair for 7 months.’
Katie was dressed casually in a pair of blue shorts and a pink jumper, while Kieran, 27, kept his head down in a white long-sleeved top and jeans.
The pair spoke to both Jane, 48, and her husband Derrick – who’ve known Katie for 20 years and have two children together – at their five-bedroom Sussex house.
Kieran left after just half an hour but Katie didn’t emerge for three hours, when Derrick, 51, was pictured seeing her out of the front door.
Derrick has since played down claims of his wife’s cheating with stripper Kieran.
‘A lot of this drama has been a storm in a teacup and there’s a lot of misunderstandings to sort out. There has not been a “full blown” affair going on, it was more like a drunken kiss,’ he says.
‘There were tears shed here today, all sorts went on. But Katie and Jane talked, they have been friends a long time and they are okay now.’
It’s been claimed that Kieran ‘begged’ mum-of-four Katie – who’s six months pregnant with their second child – to give him a second chance but she’s not interested.
‘There’s no going back. This is divorce as far as she’s concerned,’ a source close to Katie tells The Sun.
‘Initially, she was more concerned about the friend. She never believed Kieran would actually go through with anything. But the evidence started to build up.’
On Friday 9 May Derrick Pountney then said in a
statement: ‘It is true that Jane and Kieran Hayler had an affair. This
is something that Jane deeply regrets and we will not provide any more
details about it. It is true that Kate found out about this affair on
Wednesday 7 March 2014.
‘Current reports regarding this being “a
storm in a teacup” and the affair being a “drunken kiss” do not
accurately reflect the situation. Those remarks should not be used to
undermine Kate’s account which we accept is accurate.’
