The model admits that looking after her son can be a challenge

Katie Price has opened up about her eldest son Harvey‘s autism.

Harvey, 11, goes into a ‘total tailspin’ if his strict routine is disrupted, meaning he’ll have a ‘massive temper tantrum’ and will ‘lash out, head-butt the wall and floor and throw things’.

‘Recently he smashed the glass door of my oven because I didn’t do the usual thing of clicking my nails on the kitchen door before I walked in,’ says Katie, 35.

‘He pulled open the oven, slammed it shut and the glass shattered.’

Hyperactive Harvey – whose dad is footballer Dwight Yorke – was born with a limited pituitary gland and suffers from septo-optic dysplasia – which gives him limited vision.

He was recently diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder and Oppositional Defiance Disorder

Mum-of-four Katie admits that looking after Harvey can be difficult but describes him as ‘the most fantastic little boy’.

Harvey has always surprised us with his progress but you have to take every day as it comes,’ Katie writes in her book Love, Lipstick And Lies.

‘We have good days and we have bad days, we have funny days and challenging days. But I love him to bits and he’s perfect for me.’
