As Kym is accused of a five-month affair, we reveal why Jamie’s scandal doomed the marriage from the start
It’s April 2012.
Kym Marsh gets a disturbing phone call, revealing her fiancé has been pictured in a hotel bedroom with another woman.
She’s forced to make a heart-wrenching choice: leave Jamie Lomas, the father of their daughter Polly, then one, or forgive him and know her relationship will always be tainted by his ‘betrayal’.
Kym, 37, did choose to marry Jamie, 33.
But last week she was at the centre of another, more explosive scandal.
This time it was claims that she had allegedly cheated with Coronation Street co-star Oliver Mellor, 32, who plays Dr Matt Carter.
Kym‘s reps refuse to comment on the allegations, though friends say she’s denied it to her close friends and family.
Friends also say she’d never been able to forgive Jamie for inviting 26-year-old mum-of-two Kat Moores back to his penthouse suite after an appearance at Leeds‘ Oceana nightclub in April 2012, where Kat claimed they shared ‘a stupid drunken’ kiss.
A friend reveals Kym is set on a quick divorce to keep things calm for Polly, now two, as well as her children David, 18, Emily, 15, and Jamie‘s son Billy, seven, from previous relationships.
The friend adds: ‘Kym thinks Jamie is a great dad so she doesn’t want a custody fight.’
Kym and Jamie‘s reps both refused to comment.
