It seems Liam Payne had a pretty wild time at Miley Cyrus‘s 21st birthday party last weekend.

Calvin Harris told his Twitter followers on Sunday night that the One Direction singer, 20, had to jump to his rescue at cabaret bar Beacher’s Madhouse.

Miley is reported to have hired dwarfs to recreate her notorious MTV VMAs performance – but Calvin reckons he was nearly floored by one of the little people.

‘Big thank you to @Real_Liam_Payne for saving me from getting KO’d by a flying “person of unusually short stature” tonight,’ Tweeted Calvin, 29.

1D flew to the US last week and won two awards at the American Music Awards in LA before heading to Miley‘s bash.

It seems Miley – who’d turned 21 a day earlier – had a great time celebrating with her famous pals.

‘Best birthday night ever,’ she Tweeted yesterday.
