The singer's childhood dream comes true

Louis Tomlinson has become Doncaster Rovers‘ newest signing.

It was announced this afternoon that the One Direction singer, 21, is joining his hometown’s club as a non-contract player for the upcoming season.

Louis is a huge football fan and played with his pub team Three Horseshoes – which he’s also bought – in a charity match against the Rovers last year.

1D‘s Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Niall Horan watched him triumph 2-1 in aid of Sheffield charity Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Now the singer’s hoping to train with the Rovers and don their red and white kit for at least one game to raise more money for those in need.

Louis – who used to work at the club’s ground Keepmoat Stadium on match days – is thrilled to have been given the number 28 to wear on his shirt.

‘This has always been a childhood dream for me. I feel very honoured to have been asked to sign for Rovers,’ says Louis.

‘Being able to help both the club and the amazing charity Bluebell Wood is what it’s all about.’
