The singer unwittingly promotes diet products
Louis Tomlinson has been labelled ‘irresponsible’ for inadvertently promoting a weight loss website on Twitter this week.
The One Direction singer, 21, left fans shocked when he linked to a company selling health supplement products, which promise to help people ‘burn fat and lose weight’.
‘Had an amazing ———— smoothie from ———.com this morning #———–,’ Tweeted Louis on Wednesday, before deleting the post shortly after.
Experts have called Louis‘s Tweet ‘silly and remiss’ because he’s a ‘mentor’ to millions around the world and some of 1D‘s vulnerable fans are ‘easily led’.
Over 14,000 Directioners favourited the comment, while 10,000 liked it – but it seems not all of Louis‘s followers thought he was sending out a good message.
‘please stop drinking this weight loss crap, we all think you are perfect and it is worrying xxx,’ Tweeted one.
Another wrote: ‘Louis Tomlinson (1D) promoting weight loss drink to young girls on twitter. TOTALLY IRRESPONBIBLE.’
However, Louis – who’s loved-up with student Eleanor Calder – insists he had no idea that the smoothie was used for dieting.
‘Louis Tweeted about the drink as he had one and enjoyed it,’ a spokesperson tells the Mail Online.
‘However, he did not realise they are associated with weight loss and would never endorse weight loss products.’
