Could there be a hidden agenda behind Mark's new family-friendly venture?
Congratulations are in order for Mark Wright – he’s landed a new presenting gig!
It’s been announced that the Essex lad, 28, has signed up to host children’s programme The Dengineers alongside CBBC vlogger Lauren Layfield.
The makeover show will see expert designers and builders create dream dens for lucky kids, which Mark can’t wait for.
‘I’m delighted to be fronting this show. I loved nothing more than making dens with my brother and sisters when I was younger,’ he says.
‘I can’t wait to see what kids we meet and what dens we produce for them. I think my 10-year-old self might be pretty jealous.’
This is a pretty big change for Mark. He rose to fame on reality show TOWIE before taking part in both I’m A Celebrity and Strictly Come Dancing.
He’s done some presenting work, including Take Me Out: The Gossip and his Heart radio show Club Classics, but has never tried kids’ TV before.
We reckon Mark‘s new direction could signal something pretty exciting.
He and his fiancée Michelle Keegan are getting married next month and have made no secret of their desire to one day become parents.
Last October, Mark posted a snap online of a mother (who looked eerily similar to Mich) and her baby cuddling with the caption: ‘I can’t wait for moments like this.’
Now that his career has seen him swap raucous romance shows for light family-friendly entertainment, will his personal life follow suit?!
Spending time with youngsters will DEFINITELY be great practice for when he and ex-Coronation Street actress Michelle, 27, have tots of their own.
And there’s another reason why Mark‘s new job will be a great thing for his and Michelle‘s relationship.
He’ll be based in Manchester, which is Michelle‘s home city and where she’s currently filming her new gritty British film Strangeways Here We Come.
