The One Direction star says being invited to the event is an 'absolute honour'

Niall Horan felt very privileged to meet the Queen at Buckingham Palace last night.

The One Direction singer, 20, joined over 300 Irish people from business, politics, the arts, showbiz, sport and charity at an event to celebrate the country’s community in Great Britain.

‘I would to thank @BritishMonarchy and of course queen Elizabeth for her invite to Buckingham palace yesterday evening,’ Tweeted Niall this morning.

‘it was a fantastic evening and an absolute honour to be there! great to see two great countries come together like that!’

Blond hottie Niall grew up in Mullingar, County Westmeath but relocated to the UK with 1D after finding fame on The X Factor in 2010.

It seems he had a laugh hanging out with Irish stars including boxer Barry McGuigan and jockeys Barry Geraghty, Mick Kinane and Paul Carberry at the bash.

‘Myself @paulcarberry @NiallOfficial and Mick Kinane have started a new band…. #nodirection,’ Tweeted Barry, 53, alongside of the group together.
