The DJ's feature Call Or Delete has been suspended

Nick Grimshaw has been banned from making joke calls on his Radio 1 breakfast show after the prank by two Australian radio DJs to Kate Middleton‘s hospital went tragically wrong.

Nurse Jacintha Saldanha, who took the call from Mel Greig and Michael Christian, was found hanged earlier this month.

Nick‘s Radio 1 morning slot used to include a feature called Call Or Delete, where celebrity guests had to scroll through their phone’s address list and stop on a random person.

They were then told to either prank the number or delete it.

Stars including Tulisa Contostavlos, JLS and Olly Murs had all taken part in the segment since Nick, 28, took over the morning show in September.

‘Despite rigorous editorial procedures around the use of hoax calls on air, given recent events we have decided to suspend the Call Or Delete feature for the time being,’ a Radio 1 spokeswoman tells the Daily Mirror.

It’s thought that Call Or Delete will return to Nick‘s show next year.
