Katie Price wept about the release of Raju

Katie Price is an animal lover and has all sorts of creatures at Pricey’s Farm, including four dogs, two cats, 40 chickens, 20 ducks, two peacocks, five geese, five horses and two goats.

‘However, when it comes to the larger animal kingdom – and maybe it’s my pregnancy hormones – I’ve also found myself welling up at two elephant stories,’ Katie, 36, tells us.

‘First, there were tears of sadness when I saw pics of US cheerleader Kendall Jones, 19, “celebrating” with her kills in South Africa – a lion, elephant, rhino… the list goes on. Shocking but, simply, why?

‘These animals are in their own environment “surviving” against their own daily predators – but then along comes another “animal” predator – with a gun. Very fair!

‘Then, days later, I shed tears of happiness as Raju, an elephant who was held in chains and abused for 50 years in India, wept as he was finally freed by a charity. It’s a tearjerker!

‘I’m pretty similar to an elephant – I have a few wrinkles, hardened skin, a flat bum. But most of all, they say elephants never forget – I sure don’t!’
