Christopher Shaw's body was discovered on Friday
The body of ex-banker Christopher, 76, was discovered by his housekeeper at a rented house in Salisbury, Wiltshire on Friday.
Wiltshire Police say that the coroner is awaiting the results of a toxicology test and a postmortem will be carried out in due course but there are no suspicious circumstances.
Mr Shaw was said to have been in ‘good spirits’ before his death, having just returned from a holiday in Cuba.
Christopher married Cressida‘s mum Lady Mary Gaye Curzon in the early 1990s and Harry‘s girl, now 24, had the run of his stately home in Hampshire.
Her stepfather was known for his lavish lifestyle and Cressida and her siblings enjoyed many extravagant holidays and parties as youngsters.
Christopher and Lady Mary were together for six years before divorcing when Cressida was eleven, making him an important figure in her early years.
‘He may not have been her biological father but he was a massive part of her life,’ says a friend.
‘Cressida was five when they got together and 11 when it all went wrong so Christopher would have been a strong presence in her childhood.’
