The swimmer would love to take part in the dancing show

Rebecca Adlington has been tipped to appear on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing alongside Team GB athletes Victoria Pendleton and Beth Tweddle.

The swimmer – who won 2 bronze medals at the Olympics last week – says she’d be thrilled to take part in the BBC show.

‘I’ve always wanted to do Strictly – even though I know I would be awful,’ says Rebecca, 23.

‘I can’t dance and everybody would be taking the mickey. But I would love to do girlie stuff.

‘I love doing my nails. I love having my hair done and putting on a dress. Hopefully in the future I can be a bit more girlie.’

Rebecca has been enjoying being able to dress in more feminine clothes after spending months in her swimming cap and costume while training for the London 2012 Games.

She’s been snapped wearing a number of pretty party dresses on nights out in London with her fellow athletes and she complimented Kate Middleton‘s fashion sense when she met her last week.

‘I just love her shoes,’ said Rebecca.

‘They’re much nicer than the sports gear we’re wearing this week.’
