The actress is now stepping out in flats
Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that she’s had to give up wearing high heels on doctor’s orders.
The actress – who played Carrie Bradshaw in Sex And The City – is known for her collection of stilettoes but they now stay in the wardrobe.
‘For ten or so more years, I literally ran in heels. I worked 18-hour days and never took them off. I wore beautiful shoes, some better made than others, and never complained,’ says SJP, 47.
But Sarah hurt herself when she changed to cheap footwear for 2011 movie I Don’t Know How She Does It.
‘I got [lower price] shoes and the bottoms weren’t leather, they were plastic, so I slipped a couple times, twisted my ankle,’ Sarah reveals.
‘I went to a foot doctor and he said: “Your foot does things it shouldn’t be able to do. That bone there… You’ve created that bone. It doesn’t belong there.”‘
The mum-of-three has now vowed to wear flats unless she needs to dress up for a special occasion.
‘The moral of the story is, the chickens are coming home to roost,’ Sarah Jessica tells The Edit.
‘It’s sad, because my feet took me all over the world, but eventually they were like: “You know what, we are really tired, can you just stop?”
