Strictly's Craig Revel Horwood slams Andy Murray's mum Judy Murray
Judy, who is dancing alongside professional Anton Du Beke, has sparked outrage over recent weeks thanks to her disappointing performances, which have left people questioning why she’s STILL in the show.
Speaking at the Coats And Collars Gala in aid of Battersea Dogs And Cats home on Thursday night, Craig said: ‘We’re all of course hoping it’s either going to be Scott [Mills] or Judy that leaves this weekend.
‘It is a dance competition after all and as a judge, I have to wave the dance flag. I can’t be really that opinionated about it but the audience, of course I am backing, will make the right choice.’
Erm, no pressure peeps.
Craig, 49, also said that he reckons people aren’t ACTUALLY voting for Judy.
‘The professional dancers help massively. I’m sure people are voting for Artem as opposed to Judy but we will see what happens. The audience generally decide in the right way and sort of eliminate all the dead wood so to speak.’
Despite his slightly harsh words, Craig did say that Judy and Scott Mills; another contestant he’d like to see kicked off the show, were a source of entertainment.
‘I do have a laugh watching them. I’ve got to admit, they do make me smile,’ he joked.
Since Andy Murray‘s 55-year-old mum, Judy, took to the dance floor, she’s been ranked bottom of the leader board and has received hoards of abuse from Twitter users.
One Strictly fan said: ‘Judy Murray is so wooden you could build a bridge out of her.’
Another wrote: ‘You’d have thought that since tennis is a sport where foot-work is so important that Judy Murray would be better than that…’
Others have described her dancing as ‘a moped with a puncture’ and one even compared Judy to an ‘ironing board’. Harsh!
