A leading plastic surgeon reveals she's at risk of losing her septum for a SECOND time
Danniella Westbrook has dramatically admitted she has started taking cocaine again – and it could prove disastrous for her nose, which underwent a famous £20,000 rebuild in the 2000s.
Following her previous 14-year cocaine addiction, which saw the 40-year-old actress completely lose her septum (a central part of the nose that sits between the two nostrils), we can reveal that Danniella‘s relapse may wreck further havoc on her nose – reversing her previous surgery and causing a second nose collapse.
Cosmetic doctor Dr Adil Sarwar from the Harley Street Skin Clinic tells Now Danniella is at very high risk of losing her septum again and effectively ending up with a hole in her nose.
‘There could already be an internal hole there that she is unaware of,’ says Dr Sarwar. ‘Using cocaine even once after this surgery could reverse the procedure – and that is in cases less extreme than Danniella’s.
‘Because of her scar tissue, the damage could be happening quickly. Her septum could completely collapse again at any moment.’
Speaking of her recent relapse, the mum-of-two said: ‘I was offered coke and I took it. The most frightening thing was, I didn’t think about it at all. I just f***ing did it and that’s probably more scary than planning it.’
She then underwent the surgery to rebuild her septum at a Harley Street clinic in London.
‘I was the first to ever have it done,’ said Danniella, referring to the revolutionary surgery that used shark cartilage and skin grafts to fix her nose. ‘The Westbrook Procedure!’
Before the recent confession, Danniella had been clean for 12 years. During this time, the actress focused on rebuilding her career and family relationships.
In reference to her previous addiction, Danniella said: ‘I was an idiot. A spoilt, greedy drug addict, a little spoilt brat working on telly.’
