Rugby player recovering after shock incident

Danny Cipriani has admitted he’s lucky to be alive after being hit by a double-decker bus.

The rugby ace was on an end-of-season pub crawl in Leeds with his Sale Sharks teammates when he was knocked down whilst running across a road.

And Danny, who was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital, is very grateful to still be here after the terrifying experience.

‘I can’t believe I’m not dead,’ Danny, 25, tells The Sun.

‘I’m very lucky. It’s just beginning to dawn on me – this nearly had a different outcome entirely.

‘Because of the impact, I’ve got a bit of memory loss. I managed to jump just before the impact so I didn’t end up under the wheels. I think my survival instincts must have kicked in.

‘I’ve got a good excuse now not to drink. I can just say, “No, last time I got run over by a bus.”‘

And after admitting model girlfriend Kelly Brook, 33, was ‘worried’ following the accident, Danny’s told his Twitter followers that she’s taking good care of him.

Nurse @IAMKELLYBROOK has done a great job these last 3 days…‘ the rugby star Tweeted on Sunday.

And Kelly agreed with the assessment, adding: ‘I’m a good Nurse… I made chicken soup :))
