Um, is Strictly judge Darcey Bussell even allowed to have a favourite? *consults rule book*
So much for remaining unbiased, Darce!
Strictly judge Darcey Bussell has spoken out about who she wants to win this year’s Strictly – and it’s really not who you’d expect.
While Pixie Lott, Frankie Bridge and Caroline Flack regularly top the leader board, it’s one particular ginger EastEnders star she’s pinning her hopes on.
‘I’d like Jake to win – how can I say that? Oh my God!’ she added after the revelation.
But Darcey says that, despite her preferences for Jake, she is also fan of this year’s female contestants.
‘It’s difficult [to choose a winner] because Pixie is beautiful, Frankie is beautiful, Caroline is beautiful – there are some very good dancers out there already. We could have six people that all deserve to be in the final. But it’s down to the public!’
Jake – who scored 29 last weekend after an exciting Paso Doble with dance partner Janette Manrara – is male favourite to win the show according to a viewers’ poll. Could we see him take the Strictly crown?
Darcey is also a fan of a few other lads in the competition, naming Steve Backshall as the most improved:
‘He’s gone through a major transformation. He was a bit of a blokey bloke and he did a ballroom two weeks ago that was absolutely amazing. You couldn’t even believe that he could be the elegant man that he became in his tails. He traveled across the dance floor like it was the most natural thing in the world.’
Darcey also admitted to loving Mark Wright‘s attitude to the competition.
‘I love Mark – he’s so divine,’ the 45-year-old judge tells Good Housekeeping. ‘He’s such a sensitive lad and really feels, “I love this!” He had no idea he was going to have such a good time.’
What do you think Now readers? Should Jake Wood be crowned 2014’s Strictly King – or does another contestant deserve to sashay away with the Strictly trophy?
