Ashley studied physics and biology at university

Ashley Banjo has revealed that he could have pursued a career as a scientist.

The dancer, who shot to fame when his dance troupe Diversity won Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, admits he was close to going down a very different route.

‘[I’m very good at] science,’ says Ashley, 24.

‘I did physics and biology at university so if dancing wasn’t my thing, I’d definitely want to be a scientist. I really like astrophysics and particle physics.’

Another of Ashley’s childhood interests was ballet dancing, something he wishes he’d kept on.

‘[My biggest regret is] not continuing my ballet training when I was little, even though my mum was a dancer with the Royal Ballet,’ he tells S Magazine.

‘Ballet gives you a stronger technique, so I wish I’d kept it on.’
