Um, what?! EastEnders star Danny introduced daughter to on-screen son and now they are loved up in real life!

We thought EastEnders plot lines were confusing enough, but this news has just blown our tiny minds.

Danny Dyer‘s daughter, Dani (we’re confused already) is dating Sam Strike, the actor who played her dad’s gay son in the soap.

Do not adjust your screen – this is NOT an episode of Jeremy Kyle. According to The Sun, Danny who plays gruff Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter, has given his blessing to the blossoming romance after the pair met last year.

Dani, 18 and also an actor, met Sam, 21 through her dad when Sam played Johnny Carter in the soap. Sam has since left EastEnders, but the pair met up again on the set of gangster film Bonded by Blood earlier this year.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: ‘As soon as Dani and Sam met, thanks to Danny, they hit it off. It was a bit of a coincidence, but luckily for them Danny didn’t mind. He found it funny and fully supported them.’

Dani is one of three children to Danny and mum Jo Mas. Despite being together for 20 years, the couple only got engaged this year, with Jo showing off her heart-shaped diamond engagement ring for the first time in public at the premiere of Dani’s film Age of Kill last month.

Jo, 37, revealed how Danny had previously proposed to her four times, but she had always said no.
She finally said yes when her father, Tolo, 65, who she has described as the ‘love of her life’ suddenly collapsed at Christmas after developing a facial tumour.

Fortunately he has since recovered, but the shock led to Jo proposing to Danny on Valentine’s Day this year, icing the words ‘Marry Me’ on a cupcake. Awww.

She explained: ‘He collapsed the day before Christmas Eve and had to go to hospital. They had to drain the tumour and he also had cracked his ribs.

‘I had a panic and thought, “I need that man at my wedding”. I didn’t think he was going to live, that is the honest truth.

‘I wanted him to walk me down the aisle. Danny has asked me to marry him four times and I said no but this time feels right.

‘Without Danny I wouldn’t be smiling, he has pulled me through every single thing. Whatever treatment Dad wants he has sorted it.

‘If it wasn’t for Danny giving me strength, I wouldn’t have been able to give my dad the strength.’

Jo and Danny are planning an August wedding next year and Jo is dreaming of marrying in a castle!

She said: ‘It’s going to be a two or three-day event. It is going to be Spanish themed, though there might be a few Cockney things.’

We can’t wait to see if Sam will be joining Dani at the nuptials next year!
