New figures show that Ed Sheeran made over £5 million last year - but fellow music maker Calvin Harris's earnings make that look like small change!

They say money can’t buy you love, but it can buy you a whole load of fun stuff to distract you from, say, splitting up with Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

Which is exactly how we imagine Ed Sheeran is feeling today after it was revealed that the Thinking Out Loud singer earns over £15,000 a DAY.

Latest figures from the accounts of the ginger warbler’s company, Ed Sheeran Limited, show that Ed made £5,679,456 last year – which works out at a not-too-shabby £15,560 a day.

The dosh is flowing in after two years of hard graft by 24-year-old Ed, which saw him release his global chart-topping album X and embark on a 179-date world tour, including three sold-out nights at Wembley Stadium.

Last year he used some of his hard-earned cash to buy a relatively modest £895,000 home near his parents in Framlingham, Surrey.

And, according to music insiders, the £££s are set to keep on coming.

A source close to the star told The Sun: ‘Ed is one of the hardest working musicians in the business.

‘He’s played a staggering number of tour dates in the past year or two. And due to the nature of accounts, these figures tell only part of the story.

‘This figure is a glimpse of what he’s earned from X and his tour. This time next year these figures, which are already huge, will be even bigger.’

As big as, say, £117,800 a day? Because, unbelievably, that’s what Ed’s fellow music maker Calvin Harris makes!

New account figures show that the Scottish super DJ raked in £42 MILLION last year, making him the highest-paid record spinner in the industry.
