Kym Marsh's daughter is rather talented…and SIX other things we learnt from episode one of The Voice

Ex-Hear’Say singer Kym Marsh is on The Voice tonight but it’s not because she’s auditioning…

Nope, the sassy Coronation Street actress is supporting her 16-year-old daughter, Emily Cunliffe, who tries to impress the four judges; Tom Jones, Rita OraRicky Wilson and, by taking to the stage and performing Zedd by Clarity.

Before her performance, Emily revealed: ‘I don’t want to be known as Kym’s daughter. Just because she’s my mum, doesn’t mean I’m not my own person.’

How do we know all this? Well, we were lucky enough to watch the first episode of the hit BBC show at the official launch on Monday.

One thing we can tell you is it’s seriously gripping stuff!

Here’s what else we learned.

Rita Ora likes to flirt with firemen

New judge Rita took quite a fancy to Scottish firefighter Steve McCrorie, who belted out All I Want by Kodaline.

We can’t really blame her though as he is rather tasty…

Speaking to Stevie, Rita said: ‘You’ve got tattoos on your arms and they’re music notes and your legs are like that and…you’re really hot!’

Wow! The RIP singer even leaped at the chance to offer the hot Scot a glass of water and a cheeky back massage. Ooh-er!

Judge Ricky Wilson is HOT

Are we a bit late to the party? The Kaiser Chiefs front man had us hooked with his gorgeous eyes, stubbly chin and cheeky smile.
We’re in love! has a metaphor addiction

He’s always been a little ‘out there’, in a totally good way, but we noticed that the Black Eyed Peas star has really upped his use of metaphors.
We won’t spoil the surprise but seriously, this man is absolutely hilarious.
Oh, and he’s still rocking a man bag and an iPad mini.

Last year’s contestant Ryan Green, is BACK

Cast your mind back to The Voice 2014 and you may just remember Essex teen, Ryan Green.
Well, this year he’s back and he’s back with a vengeance.
Admitting that he’s ‘desperate for history not to repeat itself’, the nervous 17-year-old left us open-mouthed with his rendition of Coldplay‘s Magic.

Will he make it through though? Ooh, you’ll have to wait and see!

Rita Ora is our new girl crush

Yup, you read that right. Rita, 24, is sassy, sexy and just oh-so cool.

Her hair, her wacky nails and her outrageously cheeky smile. We.are.obsessed!
She even has a tendency to slam her button with her foot.

Nostalgia is all the rage right now

Depending on your age, you might remember children’s TV show, Rainbow.
Well, Paul Cullinan – who played the large brown furry bear named Bungle – actually steps onto the stage in a bid to impress the four judges. Blast from the past eh?!

Tune in to The Voice on Saturday January 10 at 7pm on BBC1.
