X Factor audition changed the singer's life

Ella Henderson admits she imagined leading a much more normal life than she’s currently living.

The Lincolnshire singer’s career has gone from strength to strength since she came 6th on The X Factor in 2012, having scored a No 1 hit with debut single Ghost in June, and she’s amazed at how things have turned out.

‘I’ve moved to London from a small town up north and I have my own place,’ says Ella, 18.

‘It’s crazy! I always thought I’d do my A Levels, get a music or maths degree and work a nine-to-five job.

‘It’s amazing how my X Factor audition planned my life out.’

Ella thinks she’s definitely grown in maturity along the way.

‘Music aside, as a person I’ve become more confident in my skin,’ the teen star says.

‘I feel like a young woman now, not a little girl.’
