Monica Bellucci reveals all about her steamy love scenes with Daniel Craig in 'Spectre'

It’s hard not to fall for a sexy James Bond character – and Monica Bellucci is no exception. At last night’s Spectre premiere, she couldn’t help but gush about her handsome co-star Daniel Craig. Asked about working alongside the actor, who plays Bond for a fourth time in Spectre, Italian-born Monica said: ”Daniel is great. He is a gentleman off screen, on screen.’

And how about filming those steamy love scenes, Monica? ‘Sometimes it is difficult to get into it, but with him it was so easy. The scene where we are kissing…it was like a tango.’ We’re sure it felt pretty easy for Daniel Craig, too, working with Monica – who has previously been voted one of the top 25 sexiest women in cinema by Empire magazine. We hope Daniel Craig’s wife, Rachel Weisz, who starred alongside Monica in 2010 thriller The Whistleblower, wasn’t too jealous!

In the film, Monica plays Lucia Sciarra, widow of Mario Sciarra, a criminal assassinated by James Bond. She tips Bond off about a criminal organisation that her husband was part of, and the pair enjoy a romance (of course).

At 51, Monica is the oldest Bond Girl to date – but prefers to be known as a ‘Bond woman’. Describing her character in Spectre, she says: ‘Lucia is a mature woman, but even though she doesn’t have the beauty of youth anymore she has the femininity.’ Wearing a low-cut green velvet gown by Ralph & Russo, along with Chopard jewellery and Jimmy Choo heels, former model Monica wowed on the red carpet alongside her younger female co-stars – proving, in her case at least, that age is just a number.
