Pregnant Ferne McCann ready to open up as she returns to TV

After a hellish couple of weeks, it’s no surprise that Ferne McCann has been lying low. But now the former TOWIE star is set to come out of hiding as she returns to TV screens this week.

It was announced on today’s instalment of This Morning that pregnant Ferne – who has previously hosted segments of the ITV show – will be taking to the couch on Thursday.

She will be joining Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, with Phil telling viewers at the end of Wednesday’s show: ‘Speaking for the first time since her ex-boyfriend’s arrest, pregnant Ferne McCann tells us how she’s preparing for life as a single mum.’

Ferne’s world fell apart three weeks ago when it was announced that her then-boyfriend Arthur Collins was wanted in connection with the east London acid attack that left two people blind in one eye and many more with burns – just one day after she gushed about marrying her man on the cover of OK! magazine.

After being dramatically arrested by 30 armed police officers, Arthur, 24, was charged with 15 offences including wounding with intent and throwing corrosive fluid on a person. He later appeared at Thames Magistrates Court in London.

Days after the news broke, Ferne confirmed that she is expecting her first child with Arthur. She has since made it clear that she’s definitely not in a relationship with her unborn baby’s father anymore and is focused on being a single parent.

A statement from her rep read: ’Ferne is grateful for the sympathetic way news of her pregnancy has been covered and people’s support and obviously her first concern is for her child’s health.

‘Accordingly she does not wish to discuss the pregnancy further given the early stage it is at and the immense strain that Ferne is currently under.

‘Nor does she wish to discuss her ex-boyfriend, who she does not recognise from the events of the last week.

‘Ferne is in no way seeking sympathy for her situation and is determined to do all she can to have a happy and heathy child and face the challenges of being a single parent with all her energy.

‘Her thoughts are with the victims of the horrific attack on Easter Monday.’
