Quick – name your favourite TV show theme tune!
There’s a high chance that you’ve thrown back to a show from the Nineties – and if so, you’re probably thinking of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air‘s infectious opening rap.
More than having a great tune, The Fresh Prince has been a viewing favourite from its beginning in 1990, the date of its final episode in 1996 and beyond – and now, the cast have reunited to take an epic picture, and it’s become the internet’s favourite thing of the moment.
Alfonso Ribeiro, who played nerdy Tom Jones fan Carlton Banks, shared the wonderful moment via his Instagram page on Monday (27th March).
Ahh, so much nostalgia!
The picture shows himself (second left) with on-screen sisters Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks), Will Smith (who played, erm, Will Smith), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Aunt Vivian) and Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey) – and it’s nearly the whole gang back together!
‘Always amazing to spend an afternoon with my Fresh Prince family. Wishing that James Avery was still with us to make this complete,’ he wrote alongside the shot. James Avery, who played stern but caring Uncle Phil, sadly died in 2014. Also missing from the photo is the youngest Banks child, Nicky, and Will’s mischievous best friend Jazz.
Unsurprisingly, the photo has been a big hit with fans of the show, who haven’t hesitated to let their appreciation be known.
‘Wow! That’s awesome! All the feels!’ writes one, while another says: ‘One word – AMAZING!’ (We know, right?)
Others were stunned at how little some of the cast have appeared to age, particularly Karyn/Hilary: ‘Can’t believe Hilary is 50!’
Perhaps this is the right time to suggest a reunion? TV bosses, we hope you’re watching…
