Strictly star Georgia speaks emotionally about how Giovanni has helped her through dark times
The actress, 25, admits that Italian dancer Gio has had a profound effect on her life and she credits him with helping her through some rough times.
‘Gio is my best friend and he helped me through a lot,’ says Georgia.
‘He’s the best thing that has ever happened to me. I’m in a very good place now. I’ve got good people around me.’
Awww. Georgia seemed to go through a difficult time around the Christmas and New Year holidays when she split from actor boyfriend Sean Ward.
The former Coronation Street star then started seeing Giovanni and it sounds like it took her by surprise, given that she’d only seen him as a mate whilst they were on Strictly Come Dancing.
‘It’s something that just happened, I didn’t get a chance to look at him that way while I was on the show,’ explains Georgia.
‘It was a friendship that blossomed.’
Things have certainly moved quickly for the pair since they became an item though.
Not only did they spend pretty much every day together during the Strictly tour but they took the big step of moving in with each other in London last month.
‘I love cooking for him,’ she tells The Mirror. ‘He does wash pots and help out. I like being housewifey, I always have really.
‘We like quiet nights in. We don’t do a lot of dancing any more, I dance on my own when I’m mopping the floor.’
And the romance has got so serious that Georgia has already become friendly with Giovanni’s nearest and dearest – plus she’s picking up his lingo!
‘I went to Sicily for a little while and I’ve met his parents. I’ve been in contact with them a lot and they are lovely,’ the actress says.
‘He’s met my parents too. I call him Peach, and he calls me Amore.
‘I learnt a lot of Italian on Strictly. I know all the basics. But I’m not paying for lessons, he can teach me for free.’
These two though… New couple goals or what?
We know Christmas is long behind us, but here’s that excuse to look at Giovanni’s body we know you’ve been looking for…
