After months apart, she quits film for ‘family time'

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have had to endure much negative talk about the state of their marriage, with work commitments filling their individual schedules.

Even so, Gwyneth managed to stun Hollywood this week when she announced she’s suddenly quitting her role in the movie The Danish Girl, openly admitting that she wants to spend more time with  Coldplay musician Chris, 33.

Citing exhaustion as one of the reasons, Gwyneth said: ‘Some days I feel like the world has plugged themselves into my kidneys. I’m so tired.’

Her spokesman confirmed: ‘Chris and Gwyneth have spent a lot of time apart. This way she gets more family time.’

Friends say the two things are linked. Iron Man 2 star Gwyneth, 37, has put so much energy into her various projects – including her Goop website and book Spain… A Culinary Road Trip – that she’s been left exhausted.

Following her shock decision, Gwyneth told Harper’s Bazaar about her conversation with her famously private husband.

‘When I pulled out, he said:
”I think you’ll be really happy with your decision.” I really lucked out with him… he’s deeply lovely and special.’

Her spokesman tells Now: ‘The assumption that her marriage needs work is ridiculous. Gwyneth always makes work decisions around her family life – that’s always been the case.

‘As a general policy, she doesn’t like to schedule work back to back because it means too much time away from her family.’
