Superficial sells less than 1,000 copies

Heidi Montag‘s first album hasn’t been as well-received as she’d hoped.

The Hills star’s record Superficial has sold less than 1,000 copies, according to official figures by US chart-tracking company Nielsen SoundScan.

The exact downloads for the LP, which was released on iTunes in the States last week, is thought to be 658, according to Us Weekly.

Separate sales of singles that feature on the album have faired slightly better – collectively they add up to 6,000 downloads.

Heidi, 23, hoped the record would be a huge hit.

‘I put every dollar I have into this,’ she told EW. ‘I’ve spent over $1million, almost $2million, on this album.

‘It’s cost as much or more than a Britney Spears album because I wanted it to be that quality…

‘The songs will make an impact in pop history.’
