Harriet, 21, battled for her life for a week in intensive care
Heartbreak for I’m A Celebrity star George Shelley as his sister has tragically died after being hit by a car over a week ago.
Harriet Shelley, 21, who is the former Union J star’s younger sibling, suffered severe head injuries following the accident in Bristol on Friday 28th April.
But after battling for her life in intensive care for a week, a friend confirmed to The Sun on Saturday evening that Harriet sadly passed away at Southmead hospital.Her mother Toni Harris from Somerset, has said that nobody is to blame for the tragic incident, adding her daughter was ‘in the wrong place at the wrong time’.
Toni from Somerset has also thanked the hospital staff who worked 24/7 to try an save her daughter telling The Sun: ‘Everybody at Southmead Hospital has been amazing, they have been working “24/7” to make sure she is alright.
‘I would like to thank everyone in Clevedon for praying for our daughter.
‘They have been holding church services, Bristol’s Buddha centre has also been helping – everybody across different religions have been so amazing.’
Although X Factor star, George, 23, is yet to speak about the heartbreaking death, tributes have poured in for the Shelley family with hundreds of fans taking to Twitter to send their condolences.
