As #WelcomeBackTo1DZayn trends on Twitter, the One Direction fandom goes hysterical
It’s been 37 days, 6 hours and 15 minutes – approximately – since Zayn Malik announced he was leaving the world’s biggest boyband, One Direction, but could he be making a return to the group as the hashtag #WelcomeBackTo1DZayn is trending on Twitter?
We hope so. You don’t want to mess around with the feelings of Directioners.
Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson ARE making their return to British soil, and doing their first performance in the UK since they became a four-piece this Friday. So could being back where it all started make Zayn miss the 1D days?
Sadly, that’s not the case. It seems that one fan got a bit carried away with wishful thinking, and decided to trend #WelcomeBackTo1DZayn on Twitter last night.
It started in Brazil, and by the time it was 3am London time, another fan had took the hashtag seriously, and before you know it was trending on Twitter. They’re a determined bunch those Directioners.
It all came from a One Direction documentary that was aired on Sunday night on a Brazilian TV show called Multishow, where apparently Zayn said in an interview that he was returning this year. All if took was one Brazilian fan to watch the show, take that, and run with it.
Some fans were excited:
Others were confused:
A fair few were angry:
Some were still hurt by what Zayn had done to them before:
And others did NOT find the whole thing amusing at all:
Basically, Twitter went into meltdown.
One level headed fan reminded everyone of some wise words that Zayn himself tweeted, and that you shouldn’t believe all that you read.
The 22-year-old has been spending a lot of time with his fiancé Perrie Edwards ever since his One Direction days, and he’s also been spotted in the studio with producer Naughty Boy.
Zayn has yet to comment on the speculations, but one twitter user summed this whole fiasco up perfectly.
This all seems to be a bit Chinese whispers, but we’ve got our fingers and everything else crossed!
