Seven years on from marrying Jade Goody just one month before her death from cancer, Jack Tweed still has a lot of love for his late wife
It’s almost seven years since Jade Goody tragically lost her brave cancer battle, but she’s still very much in the thoughts of her widower Jack Tweed.
The 28 year old shared a touching tribute to the late star on what would have been their seventh wedding anniversary, calling her an ‘angel’.
Jack shared a snap of himself with his beautiful bride from their wedding day, 22 February 2009, with his 14.5k Instagram followers, captioning the shot: ‘Married this angel 7 years ago today x’
Jack’s followers quickly flooded the picture with messages of support for Jack and sweet words about his lovely bride.
One user wrote: ‘Such a happy memory of a lovely and brave Jade. She will never be forgotten.’
Another posted: ‘Stunning lady absolute legend love jade … Beautiful photograph happy anniversary xx’
‘She was a beauty love and miss her so much, u must be a heart broken lad,’ a third said.
The couple wed in a bittersweet ceremony following confirmation that Jade’s cancer – which she’d been diagnosed with in September 2008 – had become terminal.
Jade – who found fame when she appeared on Big Brother in 2002 – looked beautiful in a £3,500 designer dress, a gift from Harrods boss Mohammed Al Fayed, and the couple sold the exclusive rights to their wedding snaps to OK! magazine in a £700,000 deal.
Sadly, Jade died exactly one month later, on 22 March 2009.
Recalling the couple’s wedding day, Jack once said: ‘There were mixed emotions but that day was all about happiness. I still look at my wedding pictures.
‘Jade really wasn’t well leading up to it but seeing her find the strength to get up and dance was amazing. She found the energy to make it the day she wanted.’
