The chef wants to help people

Jamie Oliver won’t be resting on his laurels any time soon.

The TV chef has been involved in several health campaigns over the years, most notably his fight to improve school dinners, and he wants to keep using his voice to help others.

I am 38 years old and healthy and fit, have done well and know I f*cking should do this and I think it is appropriate,’ says Jamie.

What I don’t think it is appropriate for is me to piss off on some little island after receiving a royalty cheque for a book I wrote five years ago – that’s not what I want to do.’

Jamie gets very annoyed when critics suggest his campaigns are simply publicity stunts.

I don’t get paid for any of that stuff,’ the dad-of-four tells the Mirror. ‘The easy thing to claim is, “He is doing that to look good” but that criticism doesn’t hold up.’
