Jeff Brazier said he felt 'humbled and grateful' to be bringing up sons Freddie and Bobby, seven years after their mother Jade Goody's death from cancer
Jeff Brazier marked the seventh anniversary of Jade Goody‘s death by sharing a moving message about their sons, Freddie and Bobby.
The TV presenter – who dated Jade for two years, from 2002 to 2004 – revealed how he was left ‘worried, upset and fearful’ following Jade’s untimely death following a battle with cancer in 2009.
He added that he now feels ‘humbled and grateful’ to be the boys’ dad, saying that they were all ‘doing well so far.’
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday night, exactly seven years after brave Jade passed away, Jeff wrote: ‘This day 7 years ago I was worried, upset & fearful for our future. Today I’m respectful, humbled & grateful to be responsible for our boys.’
He later added: ‘I’m grateful to those who support & encourage myself & the boys. We’re doing well so far & I thank you for being a part of that.
The former couple’s sons were just five and four at the time of Jade’s death.
Now 12 and 11, dad Jeff shared new pictures of the boys as they remembered their late mum on Mothers’ Day earlier this month.
‘Paid our respects, had fun on pier & ate large burgers. Today went well thanks to the courage & maturity of our boys,’ Jeff, 36, captioned two snaps from the outing, one showing a bunch of flowers at Jade’s grave and another showing the boys on a pebble beach.
Jade sadly died of cervical cancer on 22 March 2009 following a short seven-month battle with the disease.
She married boyfriend Jack Tweed exactly one month prior to her death, and yesterday he also paid tribute to the former Celebrity Big Brother star.
Jack wrote on Twitter: ‘7 years gone today but she will never be forgotten. Miss you #RememberJade’
