The Irish celebrity left his friends in Southeast Asia and returned alone

The relationship that had the nation watching behind their fingers just a year ago has finally brought us the first-ever Celebrity Big Brother baby, as Stephanie Davis has given birth to a son.

Despite the alleged father of the baby, Jeremy McConnell, disputing the paternity of the baby all throughout her pregnancy, it seems as if he may be having second thoughts – as he’s cut short his lads’ holiday to return to Ireland, potentially to begin rebuilding bridges with Stephanie!

Stephanie gave birth to her first son on Friday (13th January), after many months of anticipation for both her and her fans. However, former model Jeremy was thousands of miles away in Thailand with some friends as his much-rumoured son came into the world.

However, he landed back in Dublin ahead of schedule on Monday – without his friends. According to an insider, he is keen to connect with Stephanie to discover whether her really is a father.

‘He has told friends he really wants to sort the situation out and find out if he is the father once and for all,’ a source told the Daily Star.

‘Regardless of the media circus which surrounds him and Steph, if he is the dad of her child, then he is determined to step up to the plate and support her.’

In Tweets last week, Jeremy extended an olive branch by passing on well wishes to his ex-girlfriend and the baby. ‘I am delighted that Steph has safely had the baby.

‘Of course, if he is my son I will absolutely step up and do what I can to support him,’ he told fans.

We’re sure it won’t be too long before we know what the truth is – but in any case, we can remain happy in the knowledge that both mum and baby are happy and healthy!
