Did you ever think that Supernanny would be such a success?

I knew the show would touch a nerve and make people talk, but I didn’t think that it would be so successful – it’s been syndicated to 40 countries.

What do you think’s the biggest difference between the American and British families that you’ve helped?
Karen Lanes, Liverpool

I’ve now been in 33 states in America and there’s a difference in culture, outside activities and sometimes lifestyle, but I’ve basically dealt with the same issues that parents are dealing with here.

If you had one superpower, what would it be?

You mean I don’t already? Seriously, I think it’d be to heal people with cancer. My mother died of breast cancer at 43, when I was only in my early twenties.

Did you ever think the naughty step would get such a following?

I’m surprised it’s been adopted in offices – I was told by a CEO that his company had one for its staff!
