Actress returns to UK to help 15-year-old Daisy through operation
Joely Richardson has turned her back on LA and quit hit show Nip/Tuck so she can care for her daughter.
The actress, 41, decided to leave the TV drama to support her only child Daisy, 15, who needs a series of operations on her legs for a circulation problem that was diagnosed just after her first birthday.
‘Surgeons and hospitals have been a big part of our lives,’ says Joely. ‘We were always told that she would have to have more surgery when she got older. The time has come.’
‘I love my work,’ she tells The Daily Mail. ‘But I had to be in two places at once and I thought, “If it were all over tomorrow, what would I regret?” It would be not being there for her. It had to be done but it was scary.’
Nip/Tuck creator Ryan Murphy said he was sad to lose Joely but the actress had to come before her character.
