"I delivered a girl (or boy) and I liked it"
Katy Perry has plenty of reasons to celebrate at the moment. She’s currently in the midst of staging a successful comeback, she remains the Queen of Twitter with more followers than anyone else, and has women and men of the world jealous of her relationship with Orlando Bloom (remember those holiday paddleboarding pictures?!).
And now, she’s proven that she’s a top multitasker – as she helped her sister give birth to a child, just before heading back to the studio!
Taking to her favourite mode of social media last on Monday night (12th September), Katy revealed her happy family news to the world:
‘Helped deliver my sister’s baby at 2pm & am in the studio by 8pm. GET A GIRL THAT CAN DO BOTH!’
For the second time, Katy, 31, has helped her sister Angela Hudson become a mother in the most intimate way – she also assisted and filmed the birth of Angela’s first child, daughter Stella, in February 2014. Ever since, Katy has been an active presence in her niece’s life, with Stella even joining her for part of her tour in 2015:
How adorable! Fans have wasted no time in sending messages of congratulations to the new mum and the new auntie:
‘Use this joy in your music, babe! Wishing health and happiness to this lovely new baby’ writes one user, while another excitedly sent a message reading: ‘OMG I’m so happy for Angela! And congratulations to you for becoming an aunt to another very lucky little human’.
Cute stuff! We wonder if all this proximity to childbirth could lead to a new career change for Katy – it’s 2016, singer/midwife as a profession is by no means impossible…
