North and Saint may be getting another sibling - in an unexpected way
For all the dramas in her life that the world has been privy to, Kim Kardashian can sometimes be wrongly written off as an extremely famous character, instead of a real, feeling person.
But during the current series of reality shoe Keeping Up With The Kardashians, never has her humanity been reinforced as viewers have seen her deal with the trauma of a robbery, and the stresses of husband Kanye West becoming hospitalised after cancelling his tour.
In the most recent outing of the programme, there was another serious issue for the star to deal with, as she underwent exploratory surgery to see whether it was safe to conceive again.
Speaking to mother Kris Jenner after the procedure, 36-year-old Kim was frank with the amount of pain she was feeling.
‘I hurt. It feels like my stomach has been ripped open,’ she reveals. ‘They won’t know whether or not it was successful until I heal up.’
She and Kanye already have daughter North, 3, and one-year-old son Saint. However, when speaking to best friend Jonathan Cheban later on in the programme, she tells the tough news another pregnancy is not a possibility for expanding her family.
‘The doctor says for sure that I can’t carry another baby,’ she says tearfully. During her last pregnancy, she experienced placenta accreta – a condition where the placenta did not detach from the womb.
However, Kim’s clearly determined not to let that stop her, as she then went on to admit that she is willing to try surrogacy – and it’s all inspired by the robbery trauma experienced last Autumn.
‘After Paris I feel the need to bring another soul into this world,’ she explains to sisters Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian.
‘Kanye is just happy the surgery is over and that I’m fine. I know he wants more kids though so we are going to explore our other options.’
Kourtney asks, ‘Do you want to do a surrogate or are you not sure?’ to which Kim replied: ‘I think that’s what we are going to try. It’s so frustrating.’
