Lady Gaga was the big winner at last night’s Brit Awards – scooping 3 prizes.

The singer, real name Stefani Germanotta, was named Best International Female, International Breakthrough Act and her LP The Fame was Best International Album.

‘I was really excited to win the first two awards,’ said a teary Lady Gaga, 23.

‘This award means even more to me because I worked so hard on this album for so long.’

Lady Gaga also performed Telephone, which she dedicated to the late Alexander McQueen, at the Earls Court ceremony. 

Other winners included Best British Breakthrough Act JLS, whose track Beat Again was also named Best British Single, and Florence And The Machine, who took the Best British Album gong for Lungs.  

Dizzee Rascal was Best British Male while Lily Allen won her first Brit for the female equivalent.

Robbie Williams closed the show with a medley of his greatest hits after collecting the Outstanding Contribution To Music prize.
