Singer almost collides with bus
Lily Allen was left shaken when she almost crashed into a bus while driving to her nan’s funeral.
The 23-year-old was heading from London to Wales when her BMW reportedly came close to smashing into the vehicle.
‘It really shook her and she burst into tears,’ a source tells the Daily Mirror.
Lily’s grandmother – her dad Keith’s mum – passed away at the end of June and the singer spoke about her loss during her performance with
Mark Ronson at Glastonbury.
Looking emotional, Lily, 22, dedicated her track Littlest Things to her gran.
‘My Nana Allen died last night,’ she told the crowd. ‘This is for Nana Allen. I love you.’
Now the singer is planning a concert with the help of London Mayor Boris Johnson, 44, to combat knife crime.
‘My thoughts are with all the families affected by these heinous crimes,’ she says. ‘We need to have a knife amnesty. And we should put on a big concert to raise awareness and stop the violence.’
Boris is keen to get the ball rolling.
‘I’m greatly encouraged to hear that Lily Allen, who has a tremendous young fan base, is speaking out against violence and wants to do something,’ he tells the Daily Star.
‘It is brilliant that she is using her influence to make a stand and I look forward to hearing her plans.’
