Singer in tears as she collects prizes


Lily Allen was the big winner at yesterday’s Ivor Novello Awards.

The singer took home 3 trophies, including the prestigious Songwriter Of The Year prize.

She also scooped the Most Performed Work and Best Song Musically And Lyrically gongs for hit track The Fear.

‘This song is so much about feeling so lost,’ said Lily, 25, who was in tears. ‘It has made me feel quite found all of a sudden.’

Other winners included Paolo Nutini for Best Album for Sunny Side Up, while Noel Gallagher presented the Lifetime Achievement trophy to Paul Weller.

Guests at the annual ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House included Dizzee Rascal, Simon Le Bon and Shaznay Lewis.
