Sad times for the Love Island winners
A lot of relationships formed in the public eye don’t seem to last forever – and sadly for Love Island winners Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey, the sun has finally set on their 10-month romance.
The pair, who lived in Essex together, were rumoured to have split over the weekend, and has now been confirmed by Nathan in a heartfelt Instagram post, in which he wishes her the best for the future.
Former carpenter Nathan took to social media on Wednesday afternoon to address the rumours – and, we assume, break the hearts of thousands of fans:
‘The worst feeling in the world is when you know that you love each other, but still you can’t be together!’ he began his caption to a picture showing him walking down the road, pained expression on his face.
‘Me and Cara have split, we’ve had the summer of our lives together, but sadly come to [an] end, I wish her the best for the future.’
Though the specific reasons behind the split are unknown as of yet, there’s a chance we may be able to find out on an upcoming episode of TOWIE: Nathan was shown turning up to film supporting scenes for the ITVBe show on Wednesday with good friend Tommy Mallet.
As well as a number of holidays – including couples’ retreats with engaged Love Island runner-ups Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen – the couple also shared a puppy.
