Peter Andre opens up to Now's Jess Boulton
It’s been ‘100 per cent’ the toughest year of his life.
But as 2012 nears an end, Peter Andre‘s getting through each day the only way he knows how – with a smile, a brave face and by putting on a damn good show, offstage as well as on.
As we meet Pete, 39, backstage on the Newcastle leg of his tour to talk about the new series of Peter Andre: My Life, he’s the guy we know and love – excitable, grinning and beaming at his ‘The Boss’ sign on the dressing room door.
But in an exclusive, emotional interview, he reveals how ‘perfect’ girlfriend Emily MacDonagh, 23, is saving him from plummeting into a very dark place as brother Andrew fights cancer.
‘Emily‘s been there and her whole family have been a support,’ says Pete.
‘My kidney stones operation, getting my brother into the Royal Marsden Hospital – that was all down to them.
‘I owe a lot to them. My kids absolutely love Emily and her whole family.’
Pete hopes to marry again – and would like to have more children.
‘I’m still a young spring chicken really,’ he says with a grin.
‘I believe in the constitution of marriage, as long as your intention is to stay together forever.
I want to be a bit careful, that’s all.’
