Take That star wants to give up booze

Mark Owen‘s pal Robbie Williams is helping him overcome his drinking problem.

The Take That star has admitted having ten flings before he married his wife Emma in October.

And Mark, 38, admits he turned to alcohol to cope with his feelings.

‘I want to make it absolutely clear I am not using the drink as an excuse,’ he says.

‘I’ve been living with the guilt. Maybe the drink was my way of dealing with the guilt…

‘I have had issues for a long time. I’ve drunk for the last ten years and it got to a bad point.’

Now Robbie, 36, who has battled his own demons, is offering Mark advice.

‘I told the lads a few weeks ago that I am trying to deal with a drink problem,’ he tells The Sun.

‘I spoke to Rob about it, too…I’m glad I’ve told them, so they look after me a bit now.

‘I still have the odd drink but it might have to turn to cold turkey eventually.’

Mark, who has kids Elwood, 3, and Willow Rose, 1, with Emma, is also seeing a drink therapist.
