This is wonderful news, Tom Fletcher

We can’t get enough of McBusted star Tom Fletcher‘s heart-warming family life with his wife Giovanna and baby son Buzz. First, there was THAT wedding song back in 2012, then their cute ‘Player 2’ video earlier this year to announce that Giovanna is pregnant again. And now, in an emotional interview, Tom, who won Marvel’s Celebrity Dad of the Year Awards 2014, has revealed that becoming a father to his son Buzz helped him beat his depression.

‘Having a kid has really helped me in my life. It gives you a sense of needing to be stable. It’s not about you any more, it’s about this child that you’ve decided to bring into the world. You don’t have any choice but to cope with life because you’re doing it for someone else,’ he told the Mirror, ‘I was taking medication, but I don’t any more.’ That’s so wonderful to hear, Tom.

The former McFly star also admitted to his depression in the band’s biography ‘Unsaid Things…’, published in 2012. ‘I was put on medication and started seeing a psychologist and psychiatrist,’ he said of his ordeal, ‘I also started sleep therapy.’

Last Saturday night, the doting dad hosted a charity ball in Essex, which raised £24,000 for Mind, an organisation that helps those experiencing mental health difficulties in England and Wales. The ball was also attended by TOWIE stars Ferne McCann and Charlie Sims.

We think Tom Fletcher is totally brave for opening up about the difficulties that he has faced in the past, which also include an eating disorder. It is so inspiring to hear how his family life has helped him overcome his issues.
