Jordan has been approached for a guest editor slot on the news show

Katie Price looks set to follow the Archbishop of Canterbury, Sir Richard Branson and physicist Professor Stephen Hawking as a guest editor on BBC Radio 4‘s The Today Programme.

Since 2003, the corporation has invited a series of high-profile individuals to steer a segment of the  show – and participate on air – between Christmas and New Year.

And glamour girl Jordan, 32, is tipped to be next in line.

It would be a great project,’ her spokesman admits.

There is more to Kate than meets the eye.’

But Today‘s 6.6million listeners, who tune in to hear political debates and discussions on the economy, aren’t convinced

Radio 4 listeners are used to an intellectual take on their news and also intelligent interviews,’ regular listener Colin Ferguson, 32, tells the Daily Star.

I’m not sure that Jordan is going to be able to handle the kinds of topics and news agendas that will feature on the show.

But if the BBC‘s aim is to give its audience the world from a different perspective, then I’m sure she will give them that.’

A Today spokesman says: ‘We haven’t finalised the line-up for this year yet.’
